8.1.5.1. What is the Difference between Canceling and Deleting
Deleting (Use Rarely)
Deleting an appointment should only be done in very limited situations:
- An appointment was created by mistake (e.g., a duplicate).
- Too many appointments were created for a Volume Client.
❌ Important: When an appointment is deleted, it is permanently removed from the system. It will not appear in the client’s or animal’s records or history, and the action cannot be undone.
Canceling (Preferred Option)
Canceling is the correct choice in most cases:
- The appointment remains in the client’s Appointments tab and in the animal’s record.
- The animal’s information stays tied to the client.
- Reports and statistics reflect that the appointment was canceled.
