6. Making Wellness Appointments

A Guide to Internal and External Scheduling for Comprehensive Pet Care.

Overview

Wellness appointments are any appointments that are not spay/neuter or recheck. Examples include:

• Dental exams
• Vaccinations
• Medication pickups
• End-of-life care

Wellness appointments can be time-based or non–time-based. This section explains how to create and manage both public and volume wellness appointments, scheduled either internally or externally.

Advanced Wellness vs. Basic Wellness

Basic Wellness

• Scheduled from the Spay/Neuter Calendar.
• Not time-based.
• Commonly used for: ** Walk-ins. ** Clinics that primarily focus on spay/neuter but occasionally need to schedule other services.
• Important: Basic Wellness is not available for public external scheduling through E-Appointments.

Advanced Wellness

• Scheduled on the Wellness Calendar.
• Requires setup of appointment types and rooms.
• Supports time-based scheduling.
• Allows clinics to offer wellness services via E-Appointments.
